NDIS FAQs
Find answers to your questions about our NDIS services and support options.
What is NDIS?
NDIS stands for National Disability Insurance Scheme, supporting individuals with disabilities in Australia.
What if my NDIS plan requires a registered provider?
We will help you navigate which supports must be delivered by registered providers and coordinate with those providers to ensure your needs are met.
Are you a registered NDIS provider service?
Not yet. Link Support Services is currently an unregistered NDIS provider, and our registration application with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission is in progress. This means we work with plan-managed and self-managed participants, and cannot yet deliver supports to agency-managed participants. Being unregistered does not mean being unaccountable. Every NDIS provider in Australia must comply with the NDIS Code of Conduct, and complaints about any provider can be made directly to the NDIS Commission on 1800 035 544. All of our support workers hold a current NDIS Worker Screening Check and a current first aid certificate. If a support in your plan must be delivered by a registered provider, we will tell you and help you find one.
What services do you offer?
Supported Independent Living (SIL), assistance with daily living, respite and Short Term Accommodation, community participation, support coordination, and SDA-related support. We also provide in-home aged care support for seniors across metropolitan Melbourne. We are a disability support provider, not a clinical service. We do not provide nursing, therapy or allied health services, psychosocial recovery coaching, mental health treatment, behaviour support, or assessment and diagnosis. Where a support in your plan requires a registered health practitioner, we will tell you and help you connect with a provider who can deliver it.
Who can benefit from your services?
Our services create an empowering environment where individuals are motivated, respected, and encouraged to explore their personal goals.
How can I use my NDIS provider service funding to pay for your disability support services in Melbourne?
If your NDIS provider service plan is self-managed or plan-managed, you can use your allocated funds to access our disability support services in Melbourne. You would pay our invoices directly (self-managed) or through your chosen plan manager.
What happens if my needs change or I have a complaint?
If you have any concerns or complaints, we are here to listen and address them. Once you put in your feedback about our NDIS provider services, we will get back to you within 24 hours and work with you to resolve it fairly and promptly.
How do I find the right disability services near me in Melbourne?
If you’re searching for disability services near me or specifically looking for disability services in Melbourne, we’re here to help. Our NDIS support worker team provides a wide range of disability services near you in Melbourne that follow the NDIS framework, including daily living assistance, community participation, respite care, and supported independent living.
For Respite Care Stays, what should I bring, and how is medication managed?
Bring comfortable clothing, personal care items, any equipment you use daily, and anything that helps you feel settled. Please bring all medications in their original pharmacy-labelled packaging, along with a current medication chart or webster pack prepared by your pharmacist or prescriber. Our support workers provide medication assistance and prompting only. We follow the chart exactly as it is written, and we do not change doses, prepare medication charts, or make clinical decisions. If anything about your medication changes, we will ask you or your representative to have the chart updated by your pharmacist or GP before we continue.
What is your process to ensure client safety?
All of our support workers hold a current NDIS Worker Screening Check and a current first aid certificate. We write a support plan describing how we will deliver your day-to-day supports, and where you have a health condition we follow the written directions already provided by your treating health professionals. We do not carry out clinical assessments, nursing tasks, therapy or behaviour support. Where a support requires a qualified health practitioner, we will say so and help you connect with someone who can provide it.
